I had been told about Bukhara as a much more lively city than Samarkand… in fact this must be the case in season, during the summer. But it is November and Bukhara is above all a tourist city, very pretty by the way. But without a tourist due to the approaching winter.

I only spend two days there to see the main buildings. Some mosques have underfloor heating. Nice to walk barefoot, I must say. Near one of them 3 characters with imposing beards greet me with a smile. I cannot help but think that in France relations between communities are far from being so peaceful and smiling, unfortunately.

From a historical point of view this city, just as Samarkand is really interesting.
