Three new videos are now online!
Alongside The fireside chats, I’m launching a new, lighter series: The Saltimbanque’s stories: True stories from the road—sometimes funny, sometimes unbelievable, but always real. To kick things off, I’m sharing three videos.
Hello everyone!
I’d like to announce the launch of a brand-new series. Alongside The Fireside chats, whose first episode was recently published on YouTube, I’m introducing a new series: The Saltimbanque’s Stories.
These will be short videos, usually around five minutes long (ten minutes at the very most), in which I’ll share travel stories from my adventures. And believe me, I’ve got plenty of them!
To get started, I’m releasing three videos:
- a short introduction about myself, because I don’t think I’ve ever properly introduced myself on YouTube;
- a story about some of life’s amazing coincidences;
- and a story about encounters with local people during my campsites—meetings that were sometimes a little chaotic at first.
There will be many more. My plan is to film them while camping out in the bush, sometimes around a campfire, to create a warmer, more relaxed atmosphere. These first ones, however, were simply recorded in the living room of the apartment I’ve been staying in for the past month in Yaoundé while waiting for motorcycle parts to arrive.
I hope you’ll enjoy this new series.
For me, it’s also a new challenge because it forces me to speak directly to the camera. It’s great practice. I won’t pretend it’s perfect—I lost count of how many takes I had to do! But it’s a great way to improve my speaking skills, learn to project my voice, and become more comfortable in front of the camera.
